Biogas Generator:
Biogas plants and community biogas plants have been installed by Central Government and State Governments, mainly for cooking, heating and lighting. Diesel engines have been run in dual fuel mode for power generation where approximately 65% Biogas and 35% Diesel is being used.
We developed the technology where any Kirloskar Diesel Engine can be converted to run to 100% Biogas, there by saving the diesel fuel. Basic aim was to developed industrial hub in rural areas utilizing Biogas for power generation. This can be taken up on entrepreneurial basis where an entrepreneur can collect dung or Municipal Solid Waste, feed it to Biogas plant and supply gas, power as well as slurry to the rural people thus saving diesel. This will also help in reduction of pollution. Thus an industrial hub can be created in the rural as well as inaccessible areas. The kit has been so designed that any Kirloskar Diesel Engine can be converted into 100% Biogas Engine on site which will help to disseminate the technology.

Technical Specifications:
Gas Consumption:
25 Kg of Dung or 10 Kg of Kitchen Waste is required to generate 1Cum of biogas. The consumption of the Biogas is 0.8 - 1.0 Cum per Kilo Watt Hour. A 5HP (3.7 KW) Biogas Engine will require approximately 2.5 - 3.0 Cum Biogas per hour. .
Power of the engine:
Kirloskar Diesel Engines converted to 100% Biogas Engines will be de-rated and will generate approximately 50 - 55% power that of diesel i.e. a 10HP (7.5KW) Diesel Engine converted to 100% Biogas Engine will generated 5 – 5.5 HP (3.5 – 4 KW).

Biogas Engine Kit:
The kit consists of a Gas Carburetor for air – gas mixing, ignition mechanism for generating spark. Engine compression ration is also changed. 3 – 20 KW Kirloskar Diesel Engines can be converted on site. There is no need to take them to workshop. Diesel engine whether single or double cylinder, Air – cooled or water cooled can be converted on site. Higher capacity engine can be converted on Biogas in the workshop.
